Winter White Sangria
3/4 cup sugar 3 bottles fruity white wine, such as pinto gris or pinot grigio 25 sprigs thyme 2 t. crushed cardamom pods 1 medium lemon, sliced 1 medium orange, sliced
Combine the sugar and wine in a large pan over medium high heat, stirring occasionally. Once the sugar dissolves, add the thyme, cardamom, lemon and orange slices, reserving a few of each for garnish. Simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat, strain and discard the solids. Pour into a large pitcher and garnish with reserved citrus slices. Serve in wine glasses. Serves 12 Source: Unknown
