This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Steep Estate in Elmo, Texas in 1989.

  1. Tenderize steaks with meat mallet.
  2. Heat shortening on medium low heat then roll steaks in flour, salt and pepper and place in hot shortening.
  3. Brown slightly on one side then turn.
  4. Add onions, green pepper and Worcestershire sauce and sauté slightly on second side.
  5. Serve immediately.
