  1. Heat the oil in a frying-pan and fry the Onion light golden.
  2. Add the berbere and fry for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced skinned tomatoes and simmer 5 minutes.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients, except the Lentils, salt and pepper and simmer shortly.
  5. Add salt, pepper, Lentils and boiling water.
  6. Cover the pan and simmer the mixture on a low fire for 60 minutes.
  7. Serve with injera.
