  1. Wash and core apples.
  2. At stem end, pare skin ⅓ of the way down.
  3. Stuff apples with figs and walnuts and place in a shallow baking dish.
  4. In small saucepan, combine cinnamon candies, sugar and water.
  5. Boil 10 minutes.
  6. Pour over apples.
  7. Cover and bake at 350°F for 30 to 45 minutes, basting often with syrup, until apples are tender.
  8. Pour off syrup to saucepan and boil down until slightly thickened.
  9. Pour over apples.
  10. Serve warm or chilled, plain or with cream.
