Today's preparation is Split Pea Soup. Good comfort food for cool weather.

Ingredients[]
- 1 lb dried split peas
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped.
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp bacon bits
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 3 cups water
Directions[]
- Soak the split peas in the water.
- Coarsely chop all the other veggies, then run them through a food processor, to smooth them out.
- Put all the ingredients into a slow cooker, bring to a boil, then
simmer till the consistency is right.
Notes[]
Possible seasonings include Sage, Marjoram, Thyme, bay leaves, black pepper, and salt. Season to taste.
