Spicy Italian Sauce
In large skillet, over medium high heat, heat 1 T. olive oil. Add 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped and 1/2 t. hot red pepper flakes. Cook about 2 minutes. Stir frequently until garlic is lightly browned. Stir in 1 can tomato puree (16 oz). add 1 t. each dried oregano and sugar and 1/2 t. dried basil. Reduce heat to medium. Cook uncovered 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until heated through. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley. Cook 1 minute more, stirring. Remove form heat. Serve hot or cold. A great Italian sauce for chicken wings. With a double measure of wonderful herbs. 8 calories per tablespoon. Makes 1 3/4 cups Source: My old Recipes
