Sour cherry brandy

  1. Choose nice, plump sour cherries.
  2. Remove the stems.
  3. Take a 5-6 qt glass jar with a larger opening.
  4. Place a layer of sour cherries, a layer of Sugar, alternating between the two and taking care that the last layer is Sugar.
  5. Add vanilla, vodka, rum and cover the opening with cellophane or parchment paper.
  6. Place in a sunny place.
  7. Keep for 3-4 weeks, shaking the jar every 2-3 days.
  8. Serve with or without the sour cherries.
