Shrimp and Crab Meat Spread
4 oz. cooked crab meat, canned, shelled and cartilage removed 1/4 cup butter,softened 2 T. heavy cream 1/8 t. cayenne pepper 1/4 t. salt 1 t. fresh lemon juice 8 oz. fresh or frozen shrimp, thawed and shelled.
Put crab meat, butter and cream in mortar. Using pestle, pound mixture until smooth. Alternately, place ingredients in blender and blend on and off for 30 seconds. Spoon mixture into medium bowl. Using fork, mash in cayenne, salt and lemon juice. Mix in shrimp. Cover and chill in refrigerator for 1 hour before serving. Makes 1 1/2 cups. Source: My Old Recipes
