  1. Peel, halve, remove seeds and cut Apples in finger thick slices.
  2. Cut the baguettes in finger thick slices too.
  3. Dunk each bread slice in a mixture of beaten eggs, milk, vanilla and salt.
  4. Grease a round mold or pan with butter and arrange soaked bread slices on the bottom and sides.
  5. On top of the bread slices, arrange Apple slices.
  6. Then sprinkle with Sugar and Raisins or sour cherries from preserves.
  7. Then arrange another layer of soaked bread slices, then a layer of Apple slices.
  8. Sprinkle with Sugar and Raisins or sour cherries from preserves.
  9. Continue until all Apples are used up.
  10. The last layer must be bread slices.
  11. Pour the remaining egg-milk mixture on top. Dot with little pieces of butter.
  12. Bake until golden. Serve hot.
