  1. Soak peas in water for 5 hrs.
  2. Put onion, garlic and split peas into a food processor.
  3. Grind into a fine textured paste.
  4. Add salt and curry powder.
  5. Heat oil.
  6. Use a small tablespoon to scoop out mixture and drop into the hot oil.
  7. Fry until golden brown.
  8. Serve with mango chutney.
