Pears in Syrup

This dessert is fantastic especially when made in the period where the Pears are fresh and newly harvested.

Ingredients

• 1 l water
• 150 g sugar
• 100 g honey
• 3 bay leaf
• 2 whole cloves
• zest of one lemon
• 1 tsp whole peppercorns
• 1 kg pears

Directions

1. Bring all ingredients, except the pears, to the boil.
2. Peal the pears, do not remove the stalk.
3. Add the pears to the syrup and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.
4. The pears are ready for serving the next day.
