This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Ritchie Estate in Balch Springs, Texas in 1984.

Directions Edit

  1. Heat oil in large cast iron or heavy skillet over medium heat.
  2. Mix flour, salt and pepper.
  3. Mix eggs and water.
  4. Dip each oyster in flour then egg water mixture then bread crumbs before putting in skillet.
  5. Cook approximately 3 minutes per side.
  6. Oysters should be medium brown color.
  7. Turn only once.
  8. Serve hot with cocktail sauce.
