This is a lovely delicacy from the Orava region, in Slovakia. It is a Potato dish that will tantalize the taste buds, but is also quite economical to make.

  1. Begin by peeling the potatoes, cutting them into cubes and then boiling them in salted water, until tender. Meanwhile, fry the onions in the oil, and add 2 tablespoons of Sugar to caramelize them. Then add the pepper, salt, a little cumin, and the 5 or 6 juniper berries. Add the cabbage and then simmer, until tender.
