  1. Peel and slice quite thin the potatoes and apples.
  2. Boil together in same water until tender.
  3. Meantime, peel onions and slice thin.
  4. Melt butter in skillet and lightly saute onion slices; drain apples and potatoes and spread on a hot platter.
  5. Over these, spread the onions.
  6. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Lastly, pour the warmed cream over all and serve at once.
