  1. Cut meat into 1-inch cubes and put into a saucepan with water, cockle, or shrimps.
  2. Cook at a moderate heat.
  3. Grind onion and pepper and add to meat.
  4. Simmer until the meat is tender.
  5. Add palm oil and cook for about 10 minutes.
  6. Wash and shred leaves into large pieces and add to the sauce.
  7. Add cooking soda and cook gently.
  8. Flake fish and add to the sauce.
  9. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes until the desired consistency is reached.
  10. Add salt to taste.
  11. Serve with foofoo or rice.
