Oahu Chopped Steak
1 pound chopped beef or lamb 1/4 t. salt 1 t. soy sauce 1/8 t. pepper 1 can pineapple slices (9 oz) 1/2 cup catsup 1/4 cup brown sugar 2 T. Worcestershire sauce
Drain pineapple, saving about 2 T. juice. Season meat with salt and pepper and soy sauce and shape into thick patties. Press a pineapple slice firmly into each patty, sealing around edges of slice so it does not fall out during cooking. Make a sauce of pineapple juice, catsup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Heat together. Brush on patties and place on grill. Cook 12 minutes or until desired doneness. Brush often with sauce during cooking. Serve with grilled fruit garnish if desired.
