This sweet soup is gorgeous and really warms you up when it's cold out. This recipe serves 6.

  1. Peel and deseed the pumpkin and cut it into pieces. Add the stock, milk, salt, pepper, and sugar to the pumpkin in a large pan and simmer for 20 minutes on a medium heat.
  2. Remove the pumpkin from the mixture and puree it in a blender. Put the puree back into the pan and stir well.
  3. Bring the mixture to the boil, turning it down immediately. Leave it to simmer for a few minutes more.
  4. Serve hot.
