Meat soup with rice

  1. Cut meat in small pieces.
  2. In a large skillet, sear in vegetable oil until reddish-brown crust appears.
  3. Add sliced onions diced carrots, and potatoes.
  4. Saute until vegetables are tender, then add quartered tomatoes.
  5. Transfer meat and vegetables to soup kettle with water, bring to a boil.
  6. Add rice, diced potatoes, and cook about 20 minutes.
  7. In the final 5 – 10 minutes add salt and spices.
  8. To serve, top with yogurt or sour cream, garnish with chopped greens.
