Makes 6 servings.

  1. Soak bread in milk 5 minutes.
  2. Mix with beef, onion, ¼ teaspoon salt and black pepper; form into 18 balls.
  3. Heat oil in large skillet; add meat balls and cook until browned.
  4. Add broth to skillet and stir to loosen brown particles.
  5. Blend tomatoes, mayonnaise, flour, pepper and remaining ¼ teaspoon salt.
  6. Stir into broth; add bay leaf.
  7. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
  8. Remove bay leaf.
  9. Serve over fluffy rice.
