This South American Native is widely known as 'Passion fruit' as it is borne on a wine bearing the beautiful, famous and sacred 'passion flowers'(It embodies the symbols of Jesus' crucifiction!). Green when tender, purple when ripe, has round to ovoid shape, smooth skin, soft flesh, numerous seeds in gel like pith. Used for its juice, added to other juices for flavour.
