Vegetable beans

  1. Soak the beans in water over night.
  2. Next day cook them in ample water.
  3. Meanwhile peel the potatoes, quarter the tomatoes, clean and shred the cabbage.
  4. Drain the beans but retain the water.
  5. In a pot, heat the oil, and brown the onions and crushed garlic.
  6. Add tomatoes, cabbage and spices.
  7. Gradually add the bean water and heat up, stirring, for 5 to 10 minutes.
  8. Add the potatoes and cook briefly.
  9. Lastly add the beans and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
