A simple Gujarati dish made of rice flour.

  1. Bring water to a boil.
  2. Add cumin seeds, red chile powder, asafoetida, green chiles, and salt.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add the rice flour and baking soda, stir vigorously with a wooden spoon to avoid lumps.
  5. Cover and simmer for 10 - 12 minutes.
  6. Add the oil and cilantro.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Serve hot with ghee, crushed pappadum, pickle and yoghurt.
