A sour tasting, but very tart and fresh dessert. Especially good in the summer months.

Make a paste with a little bit of the buttermilk and the flour. Make sure there are no lumps. Add a little more buttermilk to make a batter.

Pour the batter in with the rest of the milk and mix with a wooden spoon.

Bring the mixture to the boil, stirring with a wooden spoon. Leave to boil for a few minutes, then add some demerara sugar or golden syrup.
