  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Brown chicken in oil in large saucepan or dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  3. Add sausage; cook 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Remove chicken and sausage from saucepan, set aside.
  5. Saute onions, celery, green pepper and garlic until tender.
  6. Return chicken and sausage to saucepan.
  7. Add broth, salt and red pepper.
  8. Add rice; bring to a boil.
  9. Simmer, covered, 30 minutes.
  10. Stir in green onions and tomato.
