  1. Mix liquid smoke and water in large pot.
  2. Bring to boil and add ribs.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer 1½ to 2 hours.
  4. Remove and cool to room temperature.
  5. Dip or brush with barbecue sauce.
  6. Place ribs in 400°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
  7. For crusty ribs, broil for 3 to 5 minutes.
