  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Add 1/3 cup Sugar, cornstarch, and salt to egg yolks.
  2. Pour milk into this, place in double boiler, stir and cook until thickened.
  3. Add butter, coconut, and vanilla. Pour into pie shell.
  4. Beat egg whites until foamy; gradually add Sugar. Beat until mixture stands in peaks.
  5. Pile lightly on pie filling. Place in oven to brown.
