Ingredients Edit

• ½ cup butter or margarine
• ½ cup sugar
• ¼ tsp salt
• 1 eggs
• ½ cup molasses
• 1 tbsp vinegar
• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• ¾ tsp baking soda
• 2 tsp ground ginger
• ½ tsp ground cinnamon
• red hots for eyes and buttons

Directions Edit

1. Cream margarine, sugar, salt.
2. Stir in egg, molasses and vinegar.
3. Add remaining ingredients except red hots.
4. Chill 3 – 4 hours.
5. Roll out ⅛" thick on lightly floured board.
6. Place 1" apart on greased cookie sheet.
7. Press in red hots for eyes and buttons.
8. Bake 375°F about 8 minutes.
9. Cool before removing from cookie sheets.
