  1. Grate lemon peel and gingerroot.
  2. Mix in brandy or whiskey and let stand for 10 days.
  3. Shake once a day.
  4. Strain through fine muslin, filter paper or cotton ball.
  5. Seal the liquid tightly and store in a cool place.
  6. The extract will keep almost indefinitely.
