[edit] About Garlic salt
Garlic powder refers to the powder obtained from mincing the garlic cloves. The edible part of the garlic plant is the bulb, which consists of some cloves, which are surrounded by a membrane. There are 3 important garlic species, which can all be the bases for the garlic powder: the white skinned and intensely flavored US garlic, the Mexican and Italian garlic in a mauve color and the white-skinned elephant garlic, a relative of the leek. Garlic has various nutrients, such as C and B vitamins, which help the organism to digest well, quick, calm pains, accelerate the metabolism and tone the body. Even though fresh garlic is much healthier than powdered one, the garlic powder manages to keep some of the valuable nutrients of the garlic cloves. Garlic powder is used in various recipes, such as soups, sauces, stews or as a seasoning for meat dishes. Basically, garlic powder is used instead of garlic cloves, in meals which require the same flavor, but not the same texture as the one belonging to the fresh garlic, which, if not minced, can’t spread its aroma.
