  1. Sift flour in mixing bowl.
  2. Add baking powder and salt.
  3. Cut shortening into flour.
  4. Add water to make a soft but not sticky dough.
  5. Knead lightly on floured board.
  6. Cut into rounds.
  7. Let rest for 30 minutes or more.
  8. Flatten and cut each round in 4 – 6 pieces.
  9. Heat frying pan.
  10. Add fat.
  11. Fry on each side until golden brown.
  12. Serve hot.
  13. Good for breakfast.
