Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers Chicken Magherita contains marinated chicken breast, grilled red bell peppers atop angel pasta with a sauce of tomato, basil and balsamic vinaigrette.
This product utilizes the Healthy Choice microwave Steam Cooker. Supposedly, the steam cooker locks in the flavor of the food by allowing it to steam itself.[1] Because the steamers are made with a self-venting film, there is no need to peel back the film and stir the meal halfway through cooking as with most frozen meals. In the colander-like steamers, the meat and vegetables sit above the sauce. After microwaving, the meat and vegetables are dumped into the sauce and the whole thing is eaten together. In addition to being low in calories this entree meets the American Heart Associations food criteria for saturated fat and cholesterol for healthy people over the age of two.
Reviewers from Tulsa World's Lunch Bunch gave this product an 'A' because it "tasted surprisingly fresh for a frozen dinner." [2] The reviewers felt that unlike the chicken in most frozen meals, this chicken avoided "the usual trap of dryness". They also felt that the tomatoes and garlic added a nice touch.
