  1. Prepare tins (2-8" round).
  2. Grease with shorting.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, put flour, sugar, baking powder, and other dry ingredients.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Melt margarine over low heat.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Add stout and eggs.
  8. Add liquid mixture (step 3) to dry ingredients.
  9. Mix well.
  10. Mixture should be soft.
  11. Add milk to get a soft but not dropping consistency.
  12. Put into greased loaf tins.
  13. Let rest for about 30 – 45 minutes.
  14. Bake at 350 °F /180 °C for 1½ hours.
