Dosas are a crispy, crepe-like southern Indian specialty made from a mixture of rice and lentils soaked and ground into a thin batter, then cooked on a griddle. A dosa filled with sauteed spiced potatoes and served with sambar or rasam and chutney is called a masala dosa', a very popular snack.
