• 4 large eggs
• ½ cup sugar
• 2½ cups milk
• ½ cup heavy whipping cream
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1 teaspoon unsalted butter
• apples

Directions Edit

1. Break eggs into large bowl.
2. Add sugar, milk, cream, salt and vanilla.
3. Beat lightly with whisk to mix well.
4. Gently place apples in a buttered casserole and pour custard around them.
5. Place casserole in a pan surrounded with hot water half way up sides.
6. Bake in 300°F oven for 50 minutes.
