A British dessert in which raw fruit is topped with a crumbly pastry mixture and baked. OR To break food up (usually with the fingers) into small pieces, such as crumbled bacon.

Also known as a "crisp". A baked mélange of sweetened fruit on the bottom and a crumbly topping of flour, oats, sugar and butter. The topping is crunchy after baking.
