  1. Clean and wash whole fish thoroughly. Lay sliced fish in wire basket.
  2. Heat water, vegetables, and seasoning to boiling point, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add fish carefully, and simmer another 10-20 minutes, according to thickness of fish.
  4. fish is done when it can be pulled from bone.
  5. Place on hot platter and garnish as desired. Serve with fish sauce.
