  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Butter 9-inch square baking pan.
  3. Using mixer beat sugar and eggs in large bowl until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.
  4. Beat in melted butter and extract.
  5. Add flour and stir until well blended.
  6. Stir in cranberries and pecans.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  8. Bake until tester comes out clean, about 1 hr.
  9. Cool completely before cutting.
  10. If doubling recipe, use two 9-inch pans (not a 9x13 pan).
