  1. Add the shredded cabbage and raisins in a stainless steel or glass bowl, and pour enough boiling water to cover.
  2. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the water from the cabbage.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients to the strained cabbage, and let sit for two hours or more in the refrigerator.
