- ½ cup shortening
- ⅔ cup sugar
- 2 t. instant coffee
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- ¾ cup. flour
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. vanilla
- ½ cup chopped nuts
- Cream first 3 ingredients together until fluffy
- Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Put on cookie sheet by teaspoonfuls.
- Bake until edges are firm and tops are dry, approximately 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
