Wafera are crisp, often sweet, very thin, flat, and dry biscuits, often used to decorate ice cream. Wafers can also be made into cookies with cream flavoring sandwiched between them. They frequently have a waffle surface pattern but may also be patterned with insignia of the food's manufacturer or may be patternless. Many chocolate bars, such as Kit Kat and Coffee Crisp, have wafers in them.

Vanilla wafers are simply vanilla flavored wafers. One popular brand is Nilla wafers.

Vanilla wafers wafers are often used in homemade recipes as an ingredient, particularly for banana cream pie or with banana pudding. The wafers are also used in icebox cake which is a no bake cake made by layering wafers with cream and pudding.

Chocolate wafers Edit

Chocolate wafers were originally produced by the National Biscuit Company in 1924. This wafer was part of a tin of wafers that included Ginger and Sugar wafers, now both discontinued. The chocolate wafers are eaten as a cookie, used in various desserts including crushed and used to make a pie crust.
