This is a Chinese new year rice cake.

  1. Add brown sugar in water and heat up till sugar is melted.
  2. Place aside until cool.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the rice powder, oil and the brown sugar-water mixture together.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Place in a pie square baking dish or in a right size container then put in the rice cooker.
  6. Make sure that the container is not to be filled to fullest because the content will expand while being steamed.
  7. Steam for 2 hours.
