Chai, 8 Spice Tea Masala

This is my favorite chai recipe. If you like the authentic taste of Indian restaurant tea this is it.
[edit] Ingredients
- ¼ TSP. black peppercorns
- ¼ teaspoons carom seeds
- 1 TSP. Dried ginger or 2-3 slices of fresh gingerroot
- 1 TSP. Ground cinnamon
- 1 black cardamom pod
- Seeds from 25 green cardamom pods
- 4 cloves
- ½ TSP. Fennel seeds
- 1-2 teaspoons of loose tea or a tea bag (any kind of tea will work, I like black or [[green tea].
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of milk

- First grind ingredients (don’t grind fresh ginger)
- In a pot bring water to a boil.
- Add spices (and fresh ginger slices if using) and simmer for 5 min.
- Add the tea.
- Boil for 1 min. then add milk and boil once more.
- Strain into a cup
- Serve with honey or Sugar to taste.
