garlic soup is a popular starter in Slovakia. This may be because the Slovakian people believe strongly in the healing properties of garlic. They feel that garlic is good for the body as a whole, and especially so for the heart.
- 3x Stock cubes (2x meat and 1x vegetable)
- 2 liters of water
- 6-8 cloves of garlic
- Diced bread
- 0,5dcl of oil
- parsley for decoration
- Begin by bringing a pot of water to the boil, then add the stock cubes into the water and cook for 10 minutes. When the 10 minutes are up, press the cloves of garlic into the water and cook for a further 2 minutes.
- Put oil into the frying pan and let it heat up. Then add the diced bread and fry it until it is crispy. Serve the soup into bowls together with the fried bread, and a little bit of parsley for decoration.
