“Gumbo” is a traditional Venezuelan soup with a history background; its name is from “quingombo”, a Congolese name. This soup contains different meats, smoked sausage, chicken and shellfish. The more condiments this soup will contains, the better flavor it will have. “Tinolang Manok” is another delicious Venezuelan soup which is made of oil, onion, garlic, ginger, chicken, fish sauce, water, green papaya, spinach, salt and pepper. First, the oil has to be heated into a large pot, then the onions are added and saute for about 2-3 minutes, the garlic and the ginger for another 2-3 minutes, then the chicken. After everything is almost ready the spinach needs to be stirred. “Tom Yum Kung” is another delicious soup which is quite easy to prepare. It contains water, fish sauce, kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, galangal, garlic, shrimps, scallions, limes, cilantro, Thai chili peppers, salt and pepper. The first set of ingredients needs to be boiled into a large pot. The same operation is repeated with the shrimps and the mushrooms. Next step is to stir in the lime juice, cilantro and chilies.
