The main types of meat eaten in Somalia are beef or goat. Chicken and fish are not usually eaten, except for celebrations or when other types of meat are not available. In the nomadic Somali culture eating fish is a sign that the person is not a good herdsman, which is a great shame for a traditional Somali man.

Beef in Cumin Sauce is a great main dish made using stew meat, cut into large bite-sized pieces, garlic, onions, vinegar and lemon juice, tomatoes (chopped), tomato paste, cumin, cayenne pepper, black pepper or red pepper and mint leaves.

Beef in Wild Mango Kernel Sauce makes use of the kernel, or the inner part of the seed of the wild mango fruit. After the mango seeds are cracked open, the inner kernels are collected, cooked, crushed, and shaped into loaves. These are used as to flavour and thicken soups and stews.

  1. Coupé-Coupé is a Somali barbecue. Beef, usually tougher, less expensive cuts like brisket, flank, or shoulder, are marinated in sauce and cayenne pepper and then slow cooked over a charcoal fire.And it so yummy somaila food.
