The desserts have a great taste and also the visual impact and their presentation is amazing. The Senegalese cuisine evolved together with the people of Senegal in the traditional African way. Some of the sweets where inherited from the ancient civilizations that inhabited Earth’s oldest continent. Most desserts are made of honey which makes them very delicious. Not only the honey has a big importance in creating the sweets, but fruits have their special place too. The compotes will add to desserts a nice taste of fruits. Milk based deserts are another specialty and there is a wide variety of pudding recipes. Baked sweets are, however, the most popular home made desserts, mainly because preserved fruits are hard to keep in the high heat of Senegal.
