Unlike many cuisines, Sao Tomese cuisine is based mainly on food products imported from other countries. This means that you won’t find so many original dishes in this region; nevertheless in Sao Tome and Principe people have and show a deep respect for their ancient traditions, more exactly for their ancestors who taught them how to prepare good bread and cakes.
