The Salvadorian dessert recipes include milk, rice, corn and various kinds of dough and pastry products. The arroz con leche (milk and rice pudding) or atol de elote (corn pudding) are light desserts with a lot of milk. The cakes are best represented by the Maria Luiza cake, which is prepared with butter, sugar, orange zest, vanilla, eggs, regular flour, orange juice, orange marmalade and powdered sugar. There is also the pastel de tres leches (cake with 3 milks), which is made of flour, unsalted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, milk, sweetened and condensed milk and evaporated milk, plus whipping cream and vanilla.
