Due to the fact that in El Salvador there are many coffee plantations, coffee is a traditional drink, enjoyed by all the inhabitants. The coffee beans are at first green and maturing takes almost seven months, as they can only be prepared when they get to their brown color. Besides coffee, Salvadorian people also enjoy another hot drink, hot chocolate. Fruit drinks, known in the country as licuados or refrescos are also very popular, like the cinnamon flavored drinks, such as horchada and cebada. The most popular alcoholic drink is the aguardiente, which is made of sugar cane and a traditional kind of beer. This category currently contains no pages or media.
