Meta dishes are very common in Papua New Guinea’s cuisine. Papuans prefer chicken, fish or pork meat. Pork meat is the main ingredient for mumu, the traditional Papuan dish. Another delicious dish made with meat is chicken on a stick made of chicken breasts mixed with chopped garlic, finely chopped ginger and soy sauce. The chicken is being grilled and served with vegetables and fruits. Another traditional dish which contains meat is frying fox with prunes and cream sauce. In order to prepare flying fox with prunes and cream sauce you need flying foxes which are actually bats, prunes, white wine, salt pepper, flour, butter, red currant jelly and thick cream.
